Bruce Robertson is a Managing Director of H.I.G. Ventures and focuses on investment opportunities in the life sciences sector. Prior to joining H.I.G., he was a Managing Director at Toucan Capital focusing primarily on life science investments. Prior to Toucan, Bruce was a General Partner at GIV Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on early stage investments in information technology and business services in the US, India, and China. Prior to his venture capital career, Bruce was Director of Business Development at IGEN International and a Research Manager at W.R. Grace & Co. In his research career at Grace, Bruce's research focus was in medical devices. Bruce has recently served on the boards of IntraPace, Pepgen, CGI Pharma (observer), and Chameleon Technology. He is also on the boards of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association, the GAP Fund of Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology, Shady Grove Hospital, and the University of Delaware Research Foundation.
Bruce has earned an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, a PhD in Chemical/Biomedical Engineering from the University of Delaware, and a BSE in Chemical Engineering and BA in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
