The Southeastern BIO Investor Forum provides an unparalleled opportunity for your company to reach key participants in the regional and national life sciences community.

Since 1999, the SEBIO Investor Forum has built a loyal following attracting thought leaders and investors from throughout the world. Given the strong biotech community in North Carolina, the desirable location and the success of SEBIO 2006 in Atlanta, we anticipate another sensational event this year.

To date, the 138 later stage and 97 early stage companies which have participated at previous SEBIO Investor Forums have, in the aggregate, raised over $2 billion in public and private funding since their SEBIO Investor Forum presentations - these numbers speak for themselves as to the quality of our presenting companies.

Three Southeastern states - North Carolina, Georgia and Florida - are among the top ten U.S. biotech centers, according to Ernst & Young's latest biotech report. North Carolina ranks No. 3 in the nation for the number of biotechnology companies, behind California and Massachusetts, for the third consecutive year.

More than 358 bioscience companies are headquartered or have operations in North Carolina, employing more than 48,031 people, according to the North Carolina Biotechnology Center's online database. Outstanding research universities, such as Duke University, North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest University, drive North Carolina's biotechnology community. North Carolina is home to the world's first research park - Research Triangle Park (opened in 1959) and the nation's first state-sponsored biotechnology center, the North Carolina Biotechnology Center (opened in 1981). Thanks to the vision of David Murdock, owner of Dole Foods and Castle & Cooke, a $1 billion-plus biotech research park is being built on the site of a former textile mill in Kannapolis, NC. When completed, the NC Research Campus will boast the most technologically advanced biotechnology campus in the country. Murdock has also established a $200M venture capital fund.

We are particularly excited this year to hold the forum in Pinehurst where guests can treat themselves to four-star, four-diamond resort service coupled with timeless golf traditions at Pinehurst Resort. Host to one of America's most graceful and historic hotels, Pinehurst's accommodations offer an atmosphere of relaxed elegance rich in history and detail, yet equipped with modern conveniences. Pinehurst offers some of the best golfing in the country at any of its eight pristine world-class golf courses, in addition to luxury spa facilities, family recreational activities and shopping in the Village of Pinehurst.

Since we anticipate that more than 500 biotech investors, executives, and scientists will attend, the SEBIO Investor Forum is a perfect opportunity to showcase your company's products and services at this, the most significant annual life sciences venture capital event in the Southeast. The format of SEBIO will be action packed and has been revised this year to allow for company presentations on Tuesday and Wednesday. We've tightened the schedule of the conference, which has caused us to eliminate a few of our event sponsorships; however, we have enhanced the benefits offered at the headline, platinum, gold and silver levels. Overall, this year's event will be more focused and will allow for plenty of important networking time with companies and industry leaders.
