The Southeastern BIO Investor Forum provides an unparalleled opportunity for your company to reach key participants in the regional and national life sciences community.
Since 1999, the SEBIO Investor Forum has built a loyal following attracting thought leaders and investors from throughout the world. Given the strong biotech community in Florida, the desirable location and the success of SEBIO 2007 in Pinehurst, we anticipate another sensational event in 2008.
Since we anticipate that more than 400 biotech investors, executives, and scientists will attend the event this year, this is a perfect opportunity to showcase your company’s products and services at this, the most significant annual life sciences venture capital event in the Southeast.
In 2007 we tightened the schedule of the conference which allowed the event to be more focused, but still permitted plenty of important networking time with companies and industry leaders. This agenda worked very well and we anticipate the same type of meeting format in 2008.
To date, the over 150 later stage and over 100 early stage companies that participated in previous SEBIO Investor Forums have, in the aggregate, raised over $2 billion in public and private funding since their SEBIO Investor Forum presentations – these numbers speak for themselves as to the quality of our presenting companies.
The Southeast (including North Carolina) is ranked # 4 in the country for the number of US public biotech companies according to Ernst & Young’s most recent biotech report.
Nearly 600 biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical device companies are headquartered or have operations in Florida, employing nearly 28,000 people, according to Enterprise Florida’s online market report. Florida’s 11 public and 29 independent colleges and universities, as well as world class hospitals and research institutes serve as the catalyst for the advancement of life sciences. The momentum generated by The Scripps Research Institute in 2004 has brought other distinguished organizations such as the Burnham Institute for Medical Research, SRI International, the Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies to Florida, and the Max Planck Institute. Florida is also home to the Sid Martin Biotech Development Incubator, which was recognized as the #2 incubator for technology in the world by the National Business Incubation Association.
We are particularly excited this year to hold the forum at the Breakers Resort where guests can treat themselves to five-diamond resort service set amidst 140 acres of breathtaking oceanfront property. Hotel amenities include two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 20,000-square-foot luxury spa with ocean view fitness center, Mediterranean-style beach club overlooking one-half mile of private beach, five swimming pools, variety of water sports, 10 tennis courts and an extensive program of family and children's activities.
Please consider sponsorship of SEBIO 2008 and plan to celebrate ten years of continued success in connecting emerging life science companies with potential investors in a forum that provides meaningful networking opportunities.
If you have questions about sponsorship, please call Patti Breedlove - 386.462.0880 or Stephanie Adams - 404.424.1640 about your interest in sponsoring SEBIO 2008. |
